Great work as usual. I've been sounding the alarm for 5 years that our 'time in the sun' was ending. Scaled to the time, the 1920s also had queer visibility. Speakeasies were already lawless, why not? When the stock market crashed in 1929 the elite blamed everyone but the... the elite. It was "flapper girls, homosexuality, immigrants, gender bending, promiscuous crowds & women out of the home" that caused the plight. 70s went from peace and leave, raunchy TV and gay people in media (scaled to the time), by the 80s with the economy, AIDS crisis and other hysteria of the day, culture went from hippies to reganomics real quick. I live in Florida and the resemblance to the red-lavendar scare of the Florida 1950s (same decade the still legal gay/ trans panic attack became legal) is chilling. It's like the Florida Johns Committee is shaping itself back into our lives. History repeats.
